Let Me Give it to You Straight:
The hardest part about podcasting is NOT starting one, it’s keeping it going. I said what I said. For this very reason I’ve always said no to hosting a podcast workshop, opting instead to create free podcasting guides that go to die on people’s desktops. Between all of the recent political fuckery and the drastic uptick in brochachos buying microphones and spewing nonsense, I was reminded that the best way to complain is to make something, and so I’m hosting this workshop for all you fine folks who want to use your voice, but literally don’t know how.
Whether you’ve been thinking about starting a podcast for years or you’ve just started toying with the idea, I’m going to lay out exactly how to launch a podcast AND how to keep it going.
Let’s press record.
Save Your SeatWhat You're Signing Up For:
The Where:
The training will be held on Zoom (once again, the date is Thursday May 15th at 4pm PT), and you’ll receive the link via email after you complete registration. I’ll be teaching from slides, sharing my screen, and you’ll be able to ask all the questions. There will be a recording, and it will be sent out the day after the training. However, if you want your questions answered, you’ve got to show up live.
The Why:
Joe Rogan. No, but really. I want to help you get your message out there. Do we actually need more podcasts? No. Could we use more GOOD podcasts? Absolutely. Let’s see what you’ve got.
The Promise:
You bring the idea, I’ll show you exactly how to get it into the world. What to buy, how to record, where to publish, and what to expect once it’s out there. No gatekeeping. No fluff. I’ll share the setup I use, the setup I recommend you start with, and how to avoid the tech spirals that stop most people before they even get started.
Here's What We'll Cover:
âś” Should You Even Start a Podcast?
Not everyone needs one. I’ll walk you through the key questions to ask yourself before you invest time, energy, or money.
âś” Your Setup
What gear you actually need (and what’s a waste of money). Mic, pop filter, headphones — the non-negotiables, plus what’s worth upgrading later.
✔ Why You Probably Shouldn’t Start a Video Podcast
A brief overview of what it takes to do video well, why it’s a much bigger lift than people realize, and how to know if it’s even necessary for your goals.
âś” Recording & Editing
How to capture great audio from the start, the exact software I recommend using, and how to keep the process simple. I’ll also discuss how to pull short clips for social, and how to integrate AI into your workflow.
âś” Guests, Co-Hosts, and Recording Logistics
Should you go solo, bring on guests, or co-host? I’ll walk you through what to consider, and what changes based on your setup. You’ll learn the tech and workflow for remote interviews, in-person conversations, and multi-host shows.
âś” Hosting & Publishing
Where your podcast actually lives (spoiler: not your website), how RSS feeds work, and how to get your show on Apple, Spotify, and the rest of the internet.
âś” Cover Art, Episode Structure, and Launch Plan
What needs to be in place before you publish your first episode, how many episodes to launch with, and how to make it sustainable. Plus, how to think about monetization without turning your show into a giant commercial.
âś” Q&A
Bring your questions: Tech, timing, tools, or “What if I hate the sound of my voice?” . All fair game.
In Case You Have No Idea Who I Am:
Hi! I'm the Maestro, aka Dr. C. Shanté Cofield. I'm a physical therapist by trade, an entrepreneur by choice, and while I’m well known for Instagram, my expertise lies in helping health and fitness pros build profitable online personal brands.
My business coaching focuses on content creation, organic growth, and brand strategy, with an overall approach based in transparency, integrity, and sustainability. In my 9+ years in the online space I’ve helped thousands of individuals establish their online presence, grow their online businesses, and do so in a way that works for them.
My podcast, Maestro on the Mic, has over 650 published episodes and more than 1 million downloads to date. While I have a team now, I edited the first 150 episodes myself. My free podcasting e-book has been downloaded and put to use by hundreds, and over the years I’ve helped dozens of people actually launch their shows, not just think about them. All that to say: I know what I’m talking about.
I’ve got a penchant for marketing and messaging, I believe there is a better way to do online business, and I can say with full certainty that MOAR you is better.

The Monies:
Less than a pair of fancy headphones (which you don't actually need). Way more likely to get your show actually launched.
